About Will It Hold?

Climbing is full of judgment calls — gear, anchors, terrain, conditions — and the hardest part for most new leaders is learning to trust their decisions. Most climbers aren't lacking strength or skill — they're unsure whether their gear is actually good. That uncertainty feeds hesitation, fear, and poor decision-making. Experience helps, but it can take years. Good feedback is hard to come by. Partners often say "looks fine," but not why. Books and diagrams show concepts, but not the nuances of real rock, real placements, and real scenarios.

I built Will It Hold? to help shorten that learning curve, based on my 20+ years of experience climbing, guiding, and mentoring new leaders.

What Will It Hold? Offers

  • Learn: knot tutorials, anchor concepts, rappelling fundamentals, and other core systems explained in a clean, accessible way.
  • Practice: real placements, real cracks, and real scenarios — with clear analysis and practical reasoning behind every decision.
  • Explore: search routes, placements, and beta directly — even if you're already an experienced climber looking for specifics.
  • Trad Journey: a guided progression through beginner-friendly climbs, area maps, and interactive 3D scenes to help you build skills in a smart, structured way.

My Mission

Will It Hold? isn't about replacing experience — it's about accelerating it.

It's here to help climbers build sound judgment faster, reduce uncertainty, and enjoy the process of learning the craft.

What's Coming Next

More placements, more scenarios, more videos, more terrain types, and more ways to explore. Eventually: ice climbing systems, alpine examples, and real-world case studies.

If there's something you'd like to see, or a question you want answered, reach out! This project grows best when climbers like you help shape it.
